Uniform

At Woolavington Village Nursery we would like to introduce a uniform. Complying with this dress code helps to avoid arguments at home about what is suitable to wear to nursery and also provides children with a sense of equality and belonging to our nursery family. 

Boys

• Boys - Dark Royal Blue crew neck sweatshirt with nursery logo 
• Dark Royal Blue plain or logoed polo shirt 
• Jogging trousers  
• Shorts for summer wear 
• Velcro shoes – no laces 

Girls

• Dark Royal Blue crew neck sweatshirt or cardigan with nursery logo  
• Dark Royal Blue plain or logoed polo shirt 
• Jogging trousers, leggings, skirt or pinafore dress 
• Blue gingham dress or shorts for summer wear 
• Velcro shoes – no laces 

As we promote lots of messy play which helps to develop a child’s natural curiosity for exploration and investigation. Therefore it is best to send children in old clothes that are easily washable. New clothes and light colours may not be suitable as we cannot take responsibility for clothing.

Encouraging the children to become independent with self-help skills is very important, so we ask that clothes are simple to undo, especially for children who need the toilet in a hurry and that shoes fasten up with Velcro and not laces.

In warmer weather parents will need to provide their child with a sun hat and apply sun cream BEFORE their child attends nursery. We ask whenever possible that all items are clearly labelled with the child’s name.
