Welcome
Welcome to Woolavington Village Primary School
For the past 6 years, I have had the pleasure of leading our small, friendly and ambitious school in the heart of Woolavington Village. Within this time, we have been on a rapid journey of improvement and I could not be prouder of the commitment shown by our staff, children, parents and governors in making our school the best it can be. With their ongoing support, our school continues to go from strength to strength.
We work as a very close team and strive to involve parents as much as possible in their children’s learning; ensuring high levels of attendance and engagement to give them the best possible learning opportunities. Our online platform Seesaw provides parents with regular updates about their child’s learning as well as enabling them to communicate with their child’s teacher as and when they need to. In addition, our weekly newsletters keep parents up to date with learning and key information.
Woolavington children are polite, friendly and well behaved; following our Golden Rules and living our values of TRUST every day. Our dedicated team of staff put our children’s best interests at the heart of everything we do and work incredibly hard to ensure our children remain challenged, motivated and engaged with their learning throughout their time with us.
We also have a 4-legged member of our staff team, Digby, our School Dog. Digby is an integral part of our behaviour policy and a very popular visitor to classes!
The Futura Curriculum has been adapted specifically for our children here at Woolavington, from Nursery to Year 6. We are continually evaluating the impact of our curriculum, ensuring it teaches our children to be well rounded citizens and ready for the next step in their education journey when they leave us in Year 6, having achieved Our Woolavington Curriculum end points.
As a rural village school, we make the most of our vast outdoor space. As part of our curriculum offer, all our children have access to our fantastic forest school and use our outdoor classroom weekly! As well as our fantastic Forest School offer, children have daily access to OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning). A well-researched and proven resource which we use to promote learning through play. At Woolavington Primary School, learning doesn’t stop in the classroom, it extends throughout the day.
I hope you enjoy exploring our website further. We welcome visitors to the school and as always, if you have any queries please do get in touch.
