Welcome to Woolavington Village Primary School
For the past 6 years, I have had the pleasure of leading our small, friendly and ambitious school in the heart of Woolavington Village. I could not be prouder of the commitment shown by our staff, children, parents and governors in making our school the best it can be. With their ongoing support, our school continues to go from strength to strength and was recently judged as GOOD in all areas by Ofsted.
The Ofsted report recognised Woolavington children as 'embodying the school's vision of learning, believing, achieving', as well as being 'polite and well-mannered'. The inspectors considered the quality of education that we as a school provide, to be a real strength, stating that 'teaching is consistently strong and this supports pupils to learn' and 'children in the Early Years get off to a flying start'.
We are very lucky to have such a dedicated staff team here at Woolavington, who put the children's best interests at the heart of everything we do and work incredibly hard to ensure our children remain challenged, motivated and engaged with their learning throughout their time with us. We work as a very close team and strive to involve parents as much as possible in their children’s learning; ensuring high levels of attendance and engagement to give them the best possible learning opportunities. Our online platform Seesaw provides parents with regular updates about their child’s learning as well as enabling them to communicate with their child’s teacher as and when they need to. In addition, our weekly newsletters keep parents up to date with learning and key information.
We also have a 4-legged member of our staff team, Digby, our School Dog. Digby is an integral part of our behaviour policy and a very popular visitor to classes!
Our Woolavington Curriculum has been designed specifically for our children here at Woolavington, from Nursery to Year 6. We are continually evaluating the impact of our curriculum, ensuring it teaches our children to be well rounded citizens and ready for the next step in their education journey when they leave us in Year 6, having achieved Our Woolavington Curriculum end points.
As a rural village school, we make the most of our vast outdoor space. As part of our curriculum offer, all our children have access to our fantastic forest school and use our outdoor classroom as often as possible!
I hope you enjoy exploring our website further. We welcome visitors to the school and as always, if you have any queries please do get in touch.

We are an inclusive school that welcomes children from all backgrounds and abilities, of all faiths and of none. Our site can prove challenging for individuals with disabilities because of the age and structure of the school buildings (ie number of steps, terrain and split site locations). To see copies of the scheme visit our page.
